Ireland-based Schlötter Ireland DAC has marked 50 years of operations in Kildare, underscoring the long-term evolution of its specialty chemical manufacturing capabilities serving industrial and high-tech sectors relevant to advanced manufacturing supply chains.

Kildare Nationalist reported that the Naas-based company, established in 1976, has developed from a small team of six employees into a 54-strong workforce operating from a 45,000 sq. ft. facility at Momentum Logistics Park.

The company originally supported metal finishing and printed circuit board industries before adapting its business model as production shifted to Asia, prompting a strategic repositioning in the late 1990s.

Schlötter Ireland now focuses on specialty chemical manufacturing and contract chemical production for multinational clients across medical devices, semiconductor technologies and microelectronics sectors.

The company has also built capabilities across chemical production, engineering, laboratory testing, logistics and supply chain functions, supporting increasingly complex industrial requirements.

Damian Carey, chief executive of Schlötter Ireland, said: “Reaching 50 years in Ireland is a significant milestone for our business.”

He added: “It reflects our resilience in times of change, our ability to continually adapt and strengthen our business model, and the dedication and expertise of our people, who have been central to our success.”

The company’s transformation was recognised in 2025 when it received the Invest in Ireland ‘Best Organisational Transformation Award’ for its operational evolution and industrial repositioning.

IDA Ireland chief executive Michael Lohan said: “Congratulations to Schlötter Ireland DAC on 50 years of operations in Ireland.”

He added that the milestone reflects the company’s long-standing commitment to excellence and its ability to evolve in response to changing market demand.

Schlötter Ireland continues to position itself as a specialist supplier within global manufacturing supply chains, with an emphasis on quality systems, scientific expertise and continuous improvement processes.
