Perrigo Company was shortlisted for the Energy Achievement Award at the Manufacturing Excellence Awards 2025, distinguished for a landmark renewable energy initiative that delivered 100% clean electricity across its European manufacturing operations and signalled a decisive shift in how the company approaches long-term climate strategy.

Working in partnership with Schneider Electric through the Energize programme, Perrigo secured a power purchase agreement with Zelestra and Bruc in Spain, procuring over 560 GWh of renewable electricity. 

The agreement ensured that every European Perrigo site operates on fully renewable power, removing dependence on fossil-fuel energy sources at scale. Rather than pursuing incremental gains, the initiative embedded structural climate solutions directly into the company's operational model, positioning sustainability as a core business priority rather than a compliance obligation.

The shortlisting reflects rising expectations within the Manufacturing Excellence Awards, where energy performance and climate accountability have become defining criteria for sector leadership.
