The Life Sciences Industry Conference 2026 has unveiled its advisory committee, bringing together industry and academic leaders to help shape a programme focused on artificial intelligence and digital transformation across pharmaceutical manufacturing.

The conference will examine how life sciences manufacturers can move beyond AI experimentation towards practical implementation at scale, while maintaining regulatory compliance and operational performance. Organised under the theme The AI Ready Manufacturing Site, the programme will explore how enterprise AI, data analytics, and digital innovation are changing manufacturing operations, with discussions centred on governance, cybersecurity, workforce readiness, and digital leadership.

The advisory committee includes Matt Moran, chief executive of Matt Moran Consulting and former leader of BioPharmaChem Ireland at Ibec, who brings more than three decades of experience supporting Ireland's pharmaceutical sector. Joining him is Dr Bernadette Whelan, Lecturer in Pharmaceutical Science and Programme Leader in GMP and Technology at South East Technological University Waterford, whose experience spans pharmaceutical manufacturing, regulatory practice, and competitive strategy.

The committee also includes Professor Radi Haloub, Professor of Interdisciplinary Health Education at University College London's Global Business School for Health, where he leads the Biotech and Pharmaceutical Management programme and contributes to leadership development across the healthcare and life sciences sectors.

Together, the committee will guide a programme designed to address the challenges manufacturers face as AI becomes part of everyday operations rather than isolated pilot projects. Themed sessions will examine responsible AI, scaling from pilot to production, workforce development, and the long-term vision for the AI-ready enterprise.

The conference builds on the foundation established by programmes such as the Manufacturing Excellence Awards, which has long recognised Irish manufacturers pushing the boundaries of operational and technological performance.
