Inform Nutrition Ireland, a Cork-based manufacturer of animal feed additives and premixes, has announced a €5m investment to expand its production operations, aiming to nearly double annual output from 35,000 tonnes to 60,000 tonnes.
The investment is part of a broader programme to scale production, deepen technical leadership, and enhance the company’s footprint in Ireland and across more than 60 international markets.
The funding will support major upgrades to Inform Nutrition’s manufacturing campus, including advanced automation systems, enhanced blending capabilities, and a new bulk out-loading facility.
These improvements are designed to increase efficiency, reduce turnaround times during peak seasonal demand, and future-proof the company for sustained growth. Workforce development is a key focus, with new roles and upskilling programmes planned across the business.
Last year, the company completed a €2m investment in advanced manufacturing technologies, including a Concetti bagging machine, an automated raw-material storage system, and a Promtek precision weighing system. A new distribution hub in Watergrasshill also opened to support growing domestic and international demand.
Founded in 1986 by Martin Beirne and the late Denis Twomey, Inform Nutrition supplies feed mills, co-ops, and farmers across Ireland and internationally through its sister company, Mervue Laboratories. The company holds approximately 22% of the Irish premix market.
Chief Executive William Twomey said: “With this investment, a strong leadership team and a clear strategic vision, we are positioning Inform Nutrition for sustained growth and continued innovation and leadership in animal health and performance.”
The investment forms the latest phase of Inform Nutrition’s multi-million euro growth strategy, combining technology, infrastructure, and talent to strengthen its market-leading position in animal feed additives.
