Finning UK & Ireland has supplied its 10,000th industrial engine to McCloskey International, marking a major milestone in a long-running supply relationship supporting the production of mobile material processing equipment. The delivery reflects sustained demand for heavy-duty machinery used across global construction and infrastructure projects.
International Mining reported that Finning has been supplying engines to McCloskey since 2006, following the establishment of the manufacturer’s production facilities in Northern Ireland. McCloskey produces mobile crushers, screeners, stackers, trommels and washing systems powered by Cat engines.
The company noted that growing global construction expenditure and demand for flexible, mobile equipment are driving increased adoption of its machinery across multiple markets. Equipment is often deployed in rental and leasing models, supporting short-term and scalable project requirements.
McCloskey International, founded in 1985 and now part of Metso following its acquisition in 2019, operates manufacturing facilities across North America, Europe and Asia. The company continues to expand its Northern Ireland manufacturing base alongside its global product portfolio.
Steffen Barrett, sales manager for industrial engines at Finning UK & Ireland, said: "Demand for infrastructure and materials continues to grow, with global construction spend forecast to increase by 25% over the next decade."
He added: "McCloskey’s equipment is built for demanding applications, and Cat engines provide the reliability, durability and productivity customers expect."
Barrett also highlighted ongoing shifts in engine design and regulatory requirements, including compliance with EU Stage V emissions standards and increasing demand for more power-dense, efficient engine systems with lower operating costs and extended service intervals.
Darren McKnight, vice president at McCloskey International, said: "As we’ve grown as a business and expanded our global reach, our relationship with Finning has evolved alongside us."
He added: "We’re continuing to invest in how our machines are powered, including working with Finning and Cat on the development of more efficient and increasingly electrified solutions across our product range."
The milestone underscores continued integration between engine suppliers and equipment manufacturers as industrial machinery producers adapt to evolving performance, emissions and efficiency requirements across global markets.
