Sensata Technologies has launched a £16.5m research and development centre in Co Antrim, bringing 360 engineers under one roof to fast-track innovation in automotive sensor tech. The Newtownabbey site centralises R&D efforts for its tyre pressure and EV charging systems—consolidating five locations into a single 67,000 sq ft hub built for speed, scale, and smarter collaboration.
Beyond signalling confidence in Northern Ireland’s manufacturing potential, this investment deepens Sensata’s global innovation capacity. Located in Global Point Business Park, the site strengthens the region’s bid to become an advanced manufacturing powerhouse, with the AMIC innovation centre soon to follow.
