Through the implementation of an Integrated Lean Management System (ILMS), Viatris Little Island has transformed the way it operates, fostering a culture of world-class performance and operational discipline. The site’s dedication to process optimisation, quality enhancement, and cost efficiency has positioned it as a benchmark for operational excellence within Ireland’s manufacturing sector.
Judges praised Viatris for its measurable results and innovative approach. “The Little Island site has demonstrated exceptional operational performance, achieving $13 million in cost savings and $8 million in cost avoidance in 2024 alone,” the panel noted.
Highlights include a tiered management cascade driving accountability and engagement across all levels, alongside quality improvements such as a 64.4% reduction in audit costs. The site’s consistent budget outperformance and commitment to continuous improvement underlined its position as a deserving winner of this year’s award.
