Magherafelt-based construction company Henry Brothers has completed a new £13.5m (€15.7m) Driver and Vehicle Agency MOT test centre and administrative building in Mallusk, Co. Antrim, boosting Northern Ireland's vehicle roadworthiness testing infrastructure. Ireland Live reported on the handover, confirmed on 28 April 2026, with the facility delivered on time and within budget.

The project was originally awarded to Henry Brothers by the Department for Infrastructure in November 2024 to address growing demand for vehicle testing services across Northern Ireland.

The state-of-the-art facility provides capacity for up to 100,000 vehicle tests per year and includes a ten-lane testing area, seven ramp-based lanes for light vehicles, two lanes for heavy vehicle testing, and a dedicated bay for motorcycle testing. The project also delivered a new internal road network, car parking, and an off-road motorcycle driving test track.

Jody Wilkinson, managing director for Northern Ireland and Scotland at Henry Brothers, said: "Delivered to meet growing demand for vehicle testing, the new DVA MOT test centre has been designed to support high standards of vehicle roadworthiness testing and operational efficiency."

Jeremy Logan, chief executive at DVA, said the project represents a significant investment in the future of vehicle testing in Northern Ireland, and our commitment to delivering improved services to the public.

The Mallusk facility forms part of a growing portfolio of high-profile projects being delivered by Henry Brothers across Northern Ireland, including the Queen's-led Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Centre and the Queen's Momentum One Zero project in Newtownabbey.
